Grown Up Stuff 2

Is there anything wrong just relaxing (lepaking) at home just reading books, watching television or playing FIFA 11 on my Play Station 2 for a few months? My parents just think I'm wasting too much time at home and want me to look for a job.

So, my hunt for a job began. I seriously had no idea on what kind of job I wanted to do. Actually, I had a very long list of jobs that I didn't want to do. I never wanted to work in a shopping complex. Let's look at the job opportunities there and I why I hated even the thought of working there.

Let's say I worked in the clothes section, I'll have to be folding back clothes that people just wanted to see but never had the thought of buying. I rarely fold my clothes at home, and now in shopping complexes, forget it.

I also don't want to become a promoter because I always see and feel pity for promoters who work so hard to sell their products but some people just walk straight like nothing had happened. Then, I don't want to go sit in a office doing paperwork because I think I'll just sleep there after a few days.

Working as a cashier doesn't sound that interesting either. I sound very choosy but I seriously don't want to waste my time doing boring stuff. I finally gave up on looking for a job but I knew that my parents were not going to let that happen.

So, I tried asking my friends for suggestion. Well, quite a number of my friends are planning to continue studying in colleges in January. That was the last idea on my mind. For all the studying I did for the last one year, I deserve a long break away from educational books.

Then, my father came up with two brilliant ideas. The first one was to work in a  gym as a promoter. That's when I realised that if a I worked in the gym, I would be trained to use the gym equipment and I can build up my body as well. Eventually, I had to scrap my plan as the doctor said I must not do any weight bearing exercise for my legs for a couple of months.

His second idea was and still is the best one. He suggested that I work in a motorcycle repair shop. I liked the idea instantly. It was surely an interesting job as I would be able to do some hands-on work on a motorbike. I could learn how to repair motorbikes and can use that skill to get some side income when I'm studying overseas.

The best part is that I can finally get the chance to ride on a motorbike. My mother was totally against me riding motorbikes last time but she can't stop me now. Yeah! I know the pay wouldn't be that much but I think I'll learn a lot during my time working in the repair shop. I'll be starting on the 2nd of January and I'm really looking forward to it.........
