School is pretty much over for me now. Like it or not, I have to start growing up (I hate that fact by the way). So, this long break after the SPM examination is quite perfect for me to start growing up step by step.
The first grown up stuff I did was to learn to drive (like finally). I was kinda jealous to see my friends driving to school and so on. I had the chance but didn't want to learn earlier because I wanted to get through my exams first.
I still remember the first day I started driving. It was drizzling as I exchanged seats with my father in the car. My father wanted to teach me using an automatic car first as he wanted me to learn the maneuvering of car first. So, I started off with the easy automatic car, ignoring my friends suggestions of learning using a manual car first because it is more difficult.
My father said that I was making great progress. I was quick to learn to control the break and accelerator while turning. and on straight roads of course. Believe or not (even I can't believe it when I look back), in just 2 weeks of driving, my father asked me to drive on the KESAS Highway.
It was 11.30 at night and my family and I were returning home form a function in Selayang. When we reached Subang Jaya on the highway, my father stopped the car and asked me to drive. I was a little scared. There were too many cars and there was a toll booth up ahead. I asked my father to give me the car after the toll booth.
About 100 metres form the toll booth, my father stopped the car and asked me to drive. I don't know if it was because of the air-conditioner or my fear but my teeth was shaking all the way back home. It wasn't that hard but you know, the fear was still there. I managed to make it back home safely.
Now, I pretty much love driving. My confidence level has increased tremendously. I'm taking to the road much more confidently now. The only thing is that I still don't have a licence. I hope the police won't catch me!
Actually, I'm kinda lazy to go for driving class and listen to the super long Undang lecture. I'm planning to become really good in driving a manual car before I go for classes so that I won't have a problem when I'm driving during the driving class. Till then, its time to continue driving.......
